Somatic Expressive Arts therapy practitioner, a clay artist and instructor, BA in psychology from the AUC,. I have had clinical training and have worked in several different NGOs creating and instructing psychology-based programs for marginalized communities, all the while pursuing my journey of personal exploration, inner work, and delving into the Arts. I have been on a journey of bridging my background in psychology, spiritual development, and the arts, having a vision of the wisdom and power of this weaving to help create clarity on what makes us human.
My love and passion for clay has fueled this bridging, it has become a doorway of connecting to my core and essence and connecting to the wisdom and beauty of others. I have found joy, gentleness, and have fallen in love with learning and self-development through exploring clay and the many forms of art that come with it, and it gives me great joy and purpose to be able to share the wisdom and softness of clay with others. We are bound with clay on a deep level, we are one of the same material.
What is expressive arts?
It is a form of healing practice that is rooted in humanity and exploration. It is a means of breaking from the ‘logic’ of the everyday and entering into the logic of imagination through a multimodal approach of the arts. In my practice, I believe you are the expert of yourself, and expressive arts is a way to kindly and intelligently reframe, restructure, and redefine our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world as a whole. We use the arts as our guide through this exploration of rediscovering our inner wisdom and true knowledge. The arts become a means of truly taking a good look at your inner world and the ability to be with it fully and participate in your change. In expressive arts, we come together to make art and make sense.
This is not just a pottery workshop—it’s an invitation to reconnect with yourself through the meditative and expressive process of working with clay. In this immersive experience, participants will explore how the tactile nature of clay can become a tool for self-reflection, emotional clarity, and inner calm.
Clay is a grounding, playful, and vibrant material that responds to our energy and presence. As we shape it, it shapes us. Through this workshop, we will slow down, tune into our senses, and explore how artistic expression can support us in navigating life’s challenges with more kindness and awareness.
Alongside hand-building techniques, the workshop incorporates mindfulness practices, gentle movement, storytelling, poetry, and group reflection. These elements help create a safe, supportive space for participants to explore what feels heavy and uncover clarity and healing through creativity.
Whether you’re new to clay or have worked with it before, this workshop is for anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves, others, and the present moment—through the power of art.
