She has worked in numerous artistic workshops producing ceramic pieces and served as a Ceramics Artist at the Traditional Crafts Center in Fustat, where she honed her skills in traditional techniques.
Through her own artistic project, Deena creates contemporary ceramic works inspired by ancient Middle Eastern arts, reimagining them for modern living while reviving their original spirit of elegance and luxury.
Born in Cairo in 1998, Deena graduated from the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, specializing in Entomology and Chemistry. She went on to complete a Pre-Master’s degree in Insect Taxonomy and a Diploma in Bioinformatics, before fully pursuing her passion for the arts. She has studied sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, ceramic arts at the Traditional Crafts Center, Ministry of Culture, and is currently enrolled in a contemporary art history workshop with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, focusing on the analysis of artworks and the cultural environments that shape them.
Deena’s artistic interests extend globally, with a special admiration for Japanese culture and ceramics, which inspire her approach to clay and form.
As a pottery instructor, Deena combines her strong academic background, artistic expertise, and cultural curiosity to guide learners in exploring the world of ceramics—helping them develop both technical skills and a deeper appreciation for the artistic traditions behind the craft.
