Abouzeid Ceramics Internship Program offers an opportunity to learn the details and hacks of running a ceramic studio, teaching ceramic skills, organizing workshops, firing kilns. The internship is based on an agreement of exchange between the intern and Abouzeid Ceramics Studio. There is strictly no payment involved in this program.
an individual with at least a basis of experience in ceramics, interested in pursuing her/his own knowledge in making, firing, and running a public studio.
Desirable possible skills/attributes: attitude of commitment and exploration, friendly demeanor, willingness to multi-task and work in a team, a passion for organizing, photography skills.
this is a Part-time experience. 3 Days a week, 8 hours per day, the intern offers approximately half the day toward helping out in the studio on any number of organizational tasks or research assignments, while the other half of the day is spent as an independent clay artist in the studio. During workshops and courses, the intern is expected to be on-hand throughout the program including some Courses (both as assistant and participant).
