This 3-hour workshop introduces participants to the basics of decorating ceramics using slip layers and underglaze colors. The session focuses on simple and effective techniques for adding drawings and color to ceramic surfaces.
During the workshop, participants will:
1. Understand Slip Layers and Color Basics
Learn the role of slip in ceramic decoration and how underglaze colors work on clay surfaces.
2. Transfer a Drawing onto a Ceramic Piece
Practice simple techniques for transferring a design onto a ceramic surface while becoming familiar with the basic tools and brushes used for underglaze decoration.
3. Apply Color and Finish a Personal Design
Participants will decorate their own ceramic piece by applying a design, coloring it with underglazes, and preparing it for glazing.
By the end of the session, each participant will have a decorated ceramic piece ready for glazing and a basic understanding of ceramic surface decoration techniques.
