Position Summary
The Pottery Studio Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the studio, ensuring smooth communication between staff, instructors, and members, and maintaining efficient processes and inventory systems. This role combines creative studio support with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to keep the studio running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Communication & People Management
* Serve as the primary point of contact for studio members, instructors, and visitors.
* Communicate effectively in both Arabic and English with diverse members and staff.
* Coordinate studio schedules, classes, workshops, and events.
* Support onboarding and orienting new studio members.
* Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and creative environment for the studio community.
* Communicate studio policies, updates, and safety protocols clearly and effectively.
Operations & Process Management
* Oversee day-to-day studio activities to ensure smooth workflow.
* Manage studio calendars, bookings, and space allocation.
* Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency in studio processes (e.g., glazing, firing, equipment use, cleaning).
* Track kiln firings and ensure proper handling of members’ work.
* Maintain compliance with studio health and safety standards.
Inventory & Materials Management
* Monitor and maintain inventory of clay, glazes, tools, and supplies.
* Coordinate ordering, restocking, and supplier relationships.
* Track usage patterns and prepare regular inventory reports.
* Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained and safely stored.
Administrative Support
* Assist with class registrations, payments, and member communications.
* Support marketing efforts by sharing updates, events, and content for social media or newsletters.
* Maintain organized records of studio operations, attendance.
* Maintain records of the studio's daily expenses.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in studio coordination, arts administration, or operations management (ceramics or creative environment preferred).
* Strong organizational abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic understanding of ceramics processes (clay types, firing, glazing) is a plus.
* Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, Excel, Word, Power Point ).
