Instructor : Deena Samy
Workshop Description :
Discover the art of cuerda seca, a beautifully expressive pottery technique that uses resist lines to keep glaze colors crisp, clean, and perfectly separated. In this hands-on course, you’ll learn how to transfer a design onto your ceramic piece—or let your creativity flow freehand. From there, you’ll carefully trace your lines using a resist medium, taking your time to build a strong foundation for your design.
Once your outlines are complete, the real magic begins: filling each section with vibrant glaze. The process feels wonderfully calming—almost like coloring in a book, but on a three-dimensional surface. As you work, you’ll find yourself settling into a slow, meditative rhythm, making this course as relaxing as it is rewarding.
By the end, you’ll walk away with a richly detailed, one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your personal style and creativity—something truly unique that you can be proud of.
